Steve Bartow had an illustrious basketball career including an excellent campaign with the Trojans. Bartow came to MATC from Madison West High School, where he was an All-Conference and All-State choice, as well as Madison City Player-of-the-Year.
After a brief stop at a Junior College in California, Steve transferred to MATC where he promptly led the team to 20 straight wins before losing in the NJCAA Region XIII finals. Steve averaged 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game as he led the Trojans to their greatest season ever with a record of 28-7. For his efforts he was named MVP and best defensive player for the Trojans and MVP of the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament.
Steve went on to play at Valley City State University in North Dakota where he was named NAIA All-American. He received his BS degree in Physical Education. He now resides in Madison with his wife Carmen and their three daughters, Lisa, Elizabeth and Ashley. A lot of Steve’s life is centered around his family and his faith. He is an active member of the Lake City Church on Madison’s East Side.
