Madison College is committed to ensuring that all students have an opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics without discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, sex/gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, arrest/conviction record, marital status, parental status, citizenship status, veteran status, use/nonuse of lawful products outside the college, or any other legally protected status.
As a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) member, Madison College follows the guidelines outlined in the NJCAA Handbook, including those addressing gender identity and participation in athletics. Specifically, Section 5 (copied below) outlines regulations regarding gender. Students interested in participating in Madison College Athletics are encouraged to fill out a recruiting questionnaire for the team they are interested in competing on. Submitted questionnaires are received by the team's coach, who will contact individuals to share information about the fall team tryouts. All team tryouts occur in the fall.
