Champions of Change
The Champions of Change Challenge was created in the Fall of 2022 in collaboration with Madison College's Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement. The challenge is an incentive for all student-athletes to partake in personal development experiences throughout the year with a focus on community engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The challenge aims to support opportunities for student-athletes to grow, contribute and develop by promoting key life skill areas such as academic and athletic success, personal and career development, and community service.
Throughout each academic year, student-athletes earn points to win the Champions of Change Belt by attending activities, volunteering to help with school events, providing community service, and maintaining strong academic standards on both an individual and a team level. Examples of activities include attending career readiness workshops, volunteering to perform community service, attending events that focused on Allyship, Race, Equity, Equality, Inclusion and Exclusion, serving in leadership roles in organizations, and attending fellow student-athlete's athletic competitions.
