Douglas Strander, an Oregon H.S. graduate, attended MATC during the 1968-69, 1969-70 school years. At MATC, Strander was on the first MATC wrestling team ever, and became a WTCC conference champion, led the team in takedowns, and was the team's most valuable player both years. Strander was also named an honorary captain during the 1969-70 season when he was undefeated.

He lived in Madison and was the owner and manager of Dudley's Bar and Grill from 1974-2001, and most recently as a real estate agent for Century 21 Affiliated.
