Howard Bohne graduated from Madison East High School before attending MATC during 1975-1977 school years. Howard Bohne was a part of the MATC wrestling team for two years, and compiled a 35-8 record. He was part of the WTCC Conference and WJCAA State championship team, as well as NJCAA National Qualifier in 1977. The 1976-77 team finished in 30th place at the NJCAA National Tournament, the best season finish in MATC history.
After completing his eligibility, Bohne assisted head wrestling coach Dennis Hoeser during the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons; and the 79-80 won the WTCC Conference championship. Howard then when on to become a job superintendent for Stevens Construction Company in Madison.
