Angie grew up in Kiel, WI were she was a three-sport athlete for Kiel High School. She earned All-Conference honors in basketball and volleyball while playing for the Raiders.

In the fall of 1995, Angie enrolled at MATC. The two-sport standout began her MATC athletic career in women’s volleyball. The middle hitter earned WTCC All-Conference and WJCAA State tournament MVP honors as she led the team in blocks and hitting percentage. Her contributions helped MATC claim the Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association state volleyball title for the first time in five years. In basketball, the 6'1" Meyer had a strong freshman season as she averaged almost thirteen points per game and led the team with just under nine rebounds per game. She was selected WTCC All-Conference and second team WJCAA All-State as the team posted an impressive 24-4 overall record, while claiming conference and state titles.

In her sophomore year, she continued right where she left off during the 1995-96 season. In volleyball, her team posted a school record 40 wins on their way to conference and state titles. The team was consistently in the national rankings, finishing the season ranked sixth in the country. This success was in big part due to the middle hitter from Kiel, WI. The team co-captain earned WTCC All-Conference, WJCAA All-State and NJCAA All-Region honors that season.

Her success didn’t end there. In basketball, she was the team’s leading scorer, offensive rebounder, and best shooter from the field while playing in all thirty-nine games. The tri-captain earned recognition for her outstanding play as she received All-Conference and All-State honors. More importantly, Meyers’ unselfishness and willingness to do what it takes for her team helped the team finish the season with the most wins in program history. Thirty wins earned the team conference and state titles and also the first ever women’s basketball berth in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. In the first game of the national tournament, Angie’s eleven point, 16 rebound double-double helped MATC to the win. The team went on to finish third in the nation and received the tournament’s sportsmanship award.

Angie still ranks in the top twenty in four statistical categories including season and career points, season and career rebounds, career blocks and season field goal percentage.

“Angie was a great all-around team player and an absolute joy to coach,” commented former head women’s basketball coach, Kris Mills. “Her dedication on and off the court helped motivate other teammates and helped MATC in our run to the national tournament.”

During the 1997-98 season, Angie returned to the program to serve as student assistant coach. She earned her Associates Degree in Recreation in the spring of 1998. Following that season, Angie received a basketball scholarship to attend NCAA Division I Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.

Angie currently lives in Brown Deer, WI with her husband Peter and son, Benjamin.
