Hall of Fame
While at MATC, Sheila was the second leading scorer in the 1977-78 season and the leading scorer in the 1978-79 campaign. She was an All-Conference selection for both years. In 1978-79 she was the Most Valuable Player of the team and was also the Most Valuable Player of the State Junior College Basketball Championships. As one former teammate shared, "Any person who participated on the MATC Women's Basketball team with her, as a coach or teammate, would agree that the MATC Athletic Hall of Fame would be incomplete without her. Sheila led our team to victory after victory on the conference and the State Junior College Championship level."
Her accomplishments then and now were not confined to the basketball court. While at MATC she earned an Associate Arts degree in Executive Secretarial Science and was on the honor roll each semester. Her expertise helped her to obtain a position with the United States Postal Service, where she was one of the top administrative assistants in Madison, having won several special achievement awards. She is married to her husband Jeff, and they have a daughter Bethany and a son Craig. She has been a member and a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and has helped organize Easter Egg hunts and parade floats for the Lion's club in Marshall, Wisconsin, her hometown.
