Kenneth J. Gracner, a 1968 graduate of La Follette High School, attended MATC for three years studying Liberal Studies and Data Processing. During this time, he participated in basketball for two years. During the 1971-72 year, he was the team's leading rebounder. Because of Ken's devotion to the team, academics, and to the high ideals of sportsmanship, he was justly honored as the Area Board Sportsperson of the Year; not once, but twice, in 1972 and 73.

Since leaving MATC, Ken was extremely active in sports as a participant and an official. For six years, he was a player and manager in the Madison Recreation Department fast-pitch softball league, and he played basketball in the City Recreation League. Ken has had an outstanding career as an official. He has worked a great number of games in grade school, high school, college, and in amateur levels of football, softball, baseball, volleyball, and basketball. He was an active member of the Madison Umpires Association, and was honored as the Wisconsin ASA Umpire of the Year in 1982.

Ken was employed by Karps Milwaukee Bakery Supply. He and his wife, Cheryl, have two boys, Garret and Andy.
