Robert Kubly graduated from Watertown High School in 1971 where he was a dominating prep wrestler. Robert finished fourth in the WIAA State Wrestling Meet in the 126 pound weight class in 1971.

Robert attended MATC from 1972-74. In 1973, he was the Wisconsin Technical College Conference champion at 142 pounds and took first place honors in 1974 in the Wisconsin Junior College tournament. By the time he finished his career at MATC, he had won 43 matches, lost only nine, and tied one, and was the record holder for eight separate categories. As a wrestler, he was a leader for his teammates, purely by example. He trained hard and practiced hard.

Bob was active in Watertown and began a youth wrestling program. He was an excellent softball player and coach; coaching and managing several teams in Watertown. Bob was employed by the Waukesha Foundry as a core-maker. He and his wife, Sue, have two children, Erica and Chad.
