Lori was a three-sport athlete from DeForest High School who came to MATC in the fall of 1991. In high school, she was a talented athlete who competed in softball, volleyball, and basketball, earning all-conference, most valuable player, and captain honors in all three sports. In 1991, she graduated from Deforest and enrolled at MATC in the fall.

Lori started her college basketball career with an impressive first season leading her team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. She contributed to her team in any way possible, receiving the team’s rebound award at the end of the season. As a hard working, unselfish, all-around team player she was named to the all-state tournament team while her team recorded an impressive 20-9 record with only one loss coming against Wisconsin junior college competition.

During the 1992-93 season, Lori continued where she left off during the previous season. Once again she led her team in rebounding and blocked shots and was second on the team in steals, assists, and scoring, averaging almost 12 points per game. Her positive, upbeat attitude and her on-and-off the court work ethic earned her co-captain responsibilities and team co-MVP honors. She also claimed first team all-state, all-region, and all-state tournament honors for the second straight season. Lori excelled academically as well, receiving academic all-conference honors and graduating in May 1993 with an Administrative Assistant degree.

“Lori has always been a dedicated, well-liked person. She was a great all-around team player for us, doing whatever she was asked to do and more,” said former head women’s basketball coach Kris Mills. “Lori has always had phenomenal family support that allowed her to succeed both on-and-off the court.”

Lori was a complete player as is evidence when looking at the MATC Women’s Basketball record books. She currently ranks in the top ten all-time in four statistical categories. She is first all-time in career blocks, third all-time in career rebounding, and tenth all-time in both career assists and steals.

Lori’s hard work and attitude is now being passed on to young athletes in Deforest. Lori has been a Special Education Assistant and volleyball, basketball, and softball coach in the Deforest Area School District for the past eleven years. Also, she continues to help her community through coaching and teaching in various local youth camps and clinics. Lori currently lives in Deforest with her husband Todd and her four adorable children, Jaylee, Aleah, Trace, and Tucker.
