Mary Watters is a 1978 graduate of Cambria-Friesland High School where she participated all four years in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She was named All-Conference and team Captain in volleyball and basketball. As a sprinter in track and field, Mary was All-Conference and a four-year letter winner, posting several school and conference records.
At MATC, Mary continued her success in three sports. She was the Most Improved Player and Captain of the state WJCAA volleyball champion team in 1981. In basketball, she led the team in steals and assists in 1980 and her softball team voted her Captain in ’81 and ’82. Mary became a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army in 1986 and held the rank of Captain in the Army Reserves.
