The season's final home match may have been taken away on Saturday, however, the result was inconsequential as it pertained to the North Central Community College Conference and Region 4. The Madison College women's soccer team is the 2021 N4C champions with a 3-0 league record, which gives the WolfPack five straight titles. This year's championship is the second outright title for the WolfPack, who also stood alone atop the conference in 2018. Head coach
Matt Schwartz has claimed at least a share of the league crown in all but one year since taking over the program in 2016.
Madison College (6-4-1) has also earned the top overall seed for the upcoming 2021 NJCAA Region 4 Division III Tournament, which will begin on Wednesday, October 20 with a pair of semifinal matches. The WolfPack will host fourth-seeded Illinois Valley Community College (0-9) for a 6:45 p.m. contest at
Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. In two meetings this fall, Madison College has earned wins of
12-0 on September 8 in Madison and
6-0 in LaSalle, Illinois, on October 2. Those wins pushed the all-time series advantage to 9-0, including a
3-2 overtime win in the Region 4 Tournament Semifinals of the 2020 season that was played this past spring. The winner will advance to the 2021 NJCAA Region 4 Division III Tournament Championship on Saturday, October 23 at the site of the higher remaining seed.
Saturday's match is also Sophomore Night, with a pregame ceremony to recognize the team's ten-member second year Class of 2021.
