LASALLE, ILL. - Seeking to end a two-match losing streak, the Madison College women's soccer team leaned on it's returning All-American en route to a 6-0 defeat of Illinois Valley Community College in a Region 4 contest on Saturday. Sophomore
Angelina Perez netted her third career hat trick, while goalkeeper
Hope McFarlin and the WolfPack defense recorded the team's third shutout of the fall. The win gives the 'Pack a regular season sweep of the Eagles by an 18-0 goal differential, and also improves the all-time series record to 9-0.

Elizabeth Foye, staked Madison College to a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the match. The first scoring strike came in the 16' and was followed two minutes later by the second goal. The score remained 2-0 as the first half began to wind down, which is when the WolfPack put the match out of reach with two more goals in a three minute span. Sophomore
Cassidy Olson converted passes from
Taylor Peterson and
Sydney Maksymo to make it 3-0 in the 41', and Perez followed it up with a 44' goal for the hat trick off
Marin Stauffacher's helper. Perez boasts 14 goals on the season and is tied for second most in the nation in Division III.
The second half featured two more Madison College goals, with
Karmen Smyth picking up her sixth of the year in the 73' and
Monica Tapia-Gutierrez capped it all with a 80' goal. In all, the WolfPack dominated the match with a 41-4 advantage in total shots that included a plus-20 margin in shots on goal. McFarlin, a first year 'keeper, was credited with her second career shutout and three saves.

Madison College (5-3-1) will play a key North Central Community College Conference match on Saturday, October 9 against Rock Valley College (1-6, 0-2). The WolfPack beat the Golden Eagles
4-1 on September 15 to narrow the all-time series to 7-8-1. Kickoff in Rockford, Illinois, is at 3:00 p.m.
