WolfPack trio named to All-Region 4 team

Hinds Cruz, Cadd earn repeat honors

The Madison College women's soccer team saw three players earn spots on the 2025 Region 4 Division II All-Region Team. Sophomores Suzy Hinds Cruz and Maddie Cadd were both first team recipients for the second year in a row, while fellow sophomore Kaelyn Welch received her first postseason award with a second team distinction. The trio helped the WolfPack to a 9-6-3 record and a spot in the Region 4 Tournament quarterfinals.

"I'm very pleased to see All-Region honors given to Suzy, Maddie, and Kaelyn," stated head coach Logan Fye. "Each of them have been instrumental to our success in the past two seasons and they are more than deserving of these awards!"

Hinds Cruz led the WolfPack in scoring for the second consecutive year as the midfielder netted eight goals and amassed a team-high 20 total points. The Madison, Wisconsin, native also tied for the team lead with four assists. Much like the team did, Hinds Cruz opened the season on a hot streak, scoring five goals in the first four matches, including a season-best two goals against Rochester Community & Technical College. The eight goals ranks tied for the 17th best single season mark in program history, and pushed Hinds Cruz to fourth all-time in goals scored with 22 for her career. She also sits fifth in career points with 53 and ninth in career assists with nine.

Cadd was the strength of the Madison College backline throughout the season and was one of three position players to log more than 1,200 minutes. Credited with two shots and one shot on goal during the season, the Milton, Wisconsin, native helped to hold opposing teams to 1.33 goals and 6.9 shots per match. The WolfPack did not surrender a single goal in eight games, including a 1-0 win over Waubonsee Community College in the Region 4 Tournament Play-In.

Welch was the team's primary goalkeeper in 16 of 17 matches and finished with 36 saves and 23 goals allowed. The native of Monroe, Wisconsin, registered a 1.35 goals against average and a .610 save percentage over 17 matches. Welch's nine wins ranks fourth-best in a single season. From September 6 to September 13, she did not allow a goal over three consecutive games. Welch concludes her Madison College career ranking second all-time in shutouts with 13, third in wins with a 17-8-4 career record, third in goals against average at 1.09, and seventh in saves (77) and save percentage (0.72)
