Another home match, another three-set sweep for the top ranked Madison College volleyball team. The WolfPack once again took care of business at H. Douglas Redsten gymnasium, beating Western Technical College 25-13, 25-14, 25-8 Monday evening.
Despite resting
Payton Klein,
Elizabeth Mahsem,
Hannah Grahn,
Danielle Crawford and
Mikayla Nigl, the 'Pack still looked powerful offensively.
Brooke Gilbertson,
Kayla Voorhees and
Katlynn Wirag tied for the team lead with seven kills apiece.
Terissa Bierd led the way with seven service aces and
Alexis Semrow tallied 16 assists.
"We had a chance to expose our depth," said WolfPack head coach
Toby Parker. "By position tonight, we had a chance to play kids that haven't had a chance to as of late. A chance to get aggressive and do some things with the ball, just play and compete."
"I think that (having the number one ranking) definitely makes us push harder," said freshman, defensive specialist
Courtney Frank. "We have high expectations right now with our team and we want to do our best to keep that spot, we're not gonna lose it."
There'll be no time to rest for the WolfPack (18-3, 8-0), as tomorrow the team visits N4C rival Milwaukee Area Technical College. Action is slated to get underway in Milwaukee at 7 p.m.
