WolfPack volleyball yet to lose a set at home

Now through four home matches this season, the Madison College volleyball team has yet to drop a single set at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. Hosting the College of DuPage Tuesday evening, the WolfPack blasted the Chaparrals 25-4, 25-18 and 25-16.

Madison College jumped on the College of DuPage early, controlling nearly every point in the opening set. However, that type of quick start can also sometimes mess with a team's psyche.

"It's hard to stay motivated," said freshman Hannah Grahn." "We stayed strong, we kept hitting, so I thought we did pretty good." Grahn would lead the WolfPack in assists with 13 on the evening.

The team's serving, once a sore spot for head coach Toby Parker, looked very sharp. "Tonight, they looked great," said Parker. "It's such an important skill set in this sport, and that's overstating the obvious for those volleyball fans out there."

Terissa Bierd led the team offensively with 10 klls, while Vanessa Clarson paved the way defensively with 16 digs.

Madison College (16-3 overall, 7-0 conference) will head to defending NJCAA Division III National Champion Rock Valley College on Thursday, Sept. 26 and look to stay unbeated in North Central Community College Conference (N4C) competition. The WolfPack swept the Golden Eagles at home earlier this season, winning 29-27, 25-19 and 25-21.
