Madison College Wolfpack

MADISON, WISC. - The 2026 home and Region 4 opener for the Madison College women's volleyball team resulted in a lopsided three-set sweep over Joliet Junior College inside H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. The #18-ranked WolfPack rolled to set wins over 25-8, 25-22, 25-15, holding the visiting Wolves to a total of five kills in the match. The victory gives Madison College a 29-4 lead in the all-time series.

The WolfPack earned the first five points of the match to set the tone early. With a 6-3 lead in the first set, the put together a 19-5 run that included a 7-0 surge highlighted by three consecutive aces from freshman Jaydon Golsteyn. All eight of Joliet Junior College (1-3) points in the set were the result of errors by Madison. 

In the second set, JJC opened with a 3-0 lead after an ace earned them their first true point of the match. Tied at 9-9, the Pack went ahead 14-11 on an ace by sophomore Makayla Dallas. Another ace from Gosteyn made it 20-15 and a Wolves error later in the set brought Madison College to set point at 24-19. Two home team miscues and a kill by JJC held off three set points before the WolfPack called a timeout at 24-22. Freshman Colby LaPlant terminated a kill to end the second set.

The third set was close early until a 7-0 burst put the WolfPack ahead 12-4. An 8-1 surge later in the set gave Madison a sizable 23-10 advantage before Dallas closed out the set and the match with a kill.

Madison College finished with a 35-5 differential in kills for the match, and registered a .247 attack percentage. They also racked up 11 aces, three blocks, and 36 digs.

Sophomore Sam Schultz, a native of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, posted her first double-digit kills match of the season with ten to lead the Pack. Fellow second year Ella Vosberg was second with nine kills, followed by seven for Dallas. 

Allie Andrews directed the offense with 23 assists, while Golsteyn added six and Gretchen Kammerer had four. Golsteyn, a New Berlin, Wisconsin, native, was tops with ten digs and five aces, both career-bests for the libero.

Madison College (3-2) travels to Fort Dodge, Iowa, for the Iowa Central Tournament on Friday-Saturday, September 4-5. The WolfPack open with matches against Central Community College (6-0) at 2:30 p.m. and #11-ranked Mesa Community College (4-3) at 6:00 p.m. The second day includes a 2:15 p.m. match against Minnesota West Community & Technical College (7-1), which is ranked #6 in the NJCAA Division III Poll, and a 4:00 p.m. meeting with #3 and host Iowa Central Community College (8-0). Madison College has never played against the Raiders or Thunderbirds, and are 8-1 all-time against the Bluejays and 2-4 against the Tritons. Matches can be streamed live via YouTube.
