DEER GROVE, ILL. - In their second competition of the spring season, the Madison College golf team finished eighth overall at the 11-team Skyhawk Spring Classic at
Deer Valley Golf Club. Freshman
Brady Piazza led the WolfPack with his second career Top-20 finish.
Madison College finished the 18-hole round with a 323 (+35) team total, marking their best team round of the spring. The Pack sat two shots back of seventh place Highland Community College Blue and 29 back of team champion Carl Sandburg College with a 294.
Piazza, a native of Waunakee, Wisconsin, was part of a four-way tie for 20th with a six-over-par 78, the lone sub-80 round for Madison College. He recorded three birdies over a four-hole stretch as he made the turn from the front to the back nine.
Fellow freshman
Ben Arnett signed off on a career-low round of plus-eight 80 to tie for 30th overall. Sophomore
Alex Sutter shot ten-over-par 82 to tie for 32nd, while freshman
Matthew Haggart tied for 37th with an 11-over 83. The fifth score for Madison College came from sophomore
Peter Gustafson, whose 84 (+12) put him in a tie for 41st in the 64-player field.

Madison College will play in the Highland Spring Invitational at The Freeport Club in Freeport, Illinois, on Monday, April 21. The multi-team event is hosted by Highland Community College and starts at noon.
