COTTAGE GROVE, WISC. - Sophomore
Matthew Haggart was part of a four-way tie for first place after the final putt dropped at Friday's WolfPack Challenge at The Oaks Golf Club. Haggart led Madison College, which finished fourth as a team.
The WolfPack combined for a 339 team score with just one round in the 70s. Southwest Wisconsin Technical College and the College of DuPage each shot a 316 to share the team title. Bryant & Stratton College was third with a 326, and Blackhawk Technical College placed fifth with a 396.
Haggart's five-over-par 76 shared top honors with Matthew Sims of DuPage, Anthony Pietrangelo from SWTC, and Marquez Angeles of Bryant & Stratton. The former Lakeland Union HS athlete posted 11 pars, as well as a pair of birdies over the final four holes. The first place finish is the first in his collegiate career.
Freshman
Kellan Jacobson shot an 85 (+14) to tie for 16th overall, while
Gavin Davidson turned in an 88 (+17) to place 20th and
Micah Lenway was tied for 22nd with a 90 (+19).
Parker Morrow's 96 (+25) was thrown out.
First year
Jacob Schmeltzer competed as an individual and signed off on an 89 (+18) to sit alone in 21st place.

Madison College will finish the fall portion of the 2025-26 schedule with the Kohler Collegiate Classic at
Whistling Straits on October 20-21. The WolfPack is one of eight teams in the field and is the only junior college program.Â
