SHEBOYGAN FALLS & SAUKVILLE, WISC. - In the final regular season tune-up before the upcoming Region 4 Tournament, the Madison College golf team served notice they are ready to challenge for a region crown. The WolfPack finished second at the two-day BSC Legends Classic on Friday, posting a 633 team score to narrowly miss team trophy by two strokes. Freshman
Kaden Zinkle put together his best rounds of the season to claim second place for his best career individual finish. The tournament was held at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms for Round 1 and The Bog for the final round.
Madison College opened the 36-hole event with a 318 team score to sit tied for third, and followed it up with their third 315 of the spring slate. The 633 team total, which sits as their second best team score of the 2025-26 season, moved the WolfPack into a solo second place that was one shot better than Carthage College "C". St. Norbert College secured the team title with a 631.
Zinkle, a DeForest, Wisconsin, native, posted his first sub-80 rounds of his career with a two-over-par 74 and a plus-four 76. The 150 total was the result of six birdies and 19 pars. The individual medalist was Marquez Angelez of host Bryant & Stratton College with a one-shot lead at five-over 149 after being tied with Zinkle atop the leaderboard after Round 1.
Kellan Jacobson and
Micah Lenway, first year players from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, and Faribault, Minnesota, respectively, came in with two-day totals of 160 (+16) to earn a four-way tie for 12th overall. Jacobson signed off on rounds of seven-over 79 and nine-over 81 with two birdies and 21 pars. Lenway improved by eight shots after an opening round 84 (+12) to shoot four-over 76, matching his career-best round. He racked up five birdies and 15 pars.
Sophomore
Matthew Haggart was the final counted score for the Pack, turning in a two-day total of 163 (+19) with scores of plus-nine 81 and ten-over 82 as he tied for 19. Freshman Gavin Davison competed as an individual and matched Haggart with at 163 after going 80-83.
Jacob Schmeltzer finished in 47th place with a 178 after signing off on rounds of 86 (+14) and 92 (+20).

Madison College will play in the Region 4 Division II Tournament at PrairieView Golf Club in Byron, Illinois. The 54-hole event runs Sunday, April 26 through Tuesday, April 28, with the top two teams earning a spot in the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships from May 19-22 at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana.
