A record-setting regular season that ended with a program-best 44 wins and a 22-game winning streak will now shift to the postseason for the Madison College softball team, which received the number one seed in the NJCAA Region IV Division II District B Tournament for the first time in team history. The WolfPack, currently ranked #9 in the NJCAA Division II Poll, will host Kishwaukee College (10-32) in a Region IV Quarterfinal best-of-three series on Wednesday, May 2 at Robert D. Goodman Softball Field.

Wednesday's games will mark the third time in four years the two teams have met in the postseason. Madison College eliminated Kishwaukee College with a pair of wins in the 2016 NJCAA Region IV Division II Quarterfinals. Playing for the final time on their old field, the WolfPack won by scores of 4-1 and 8-1. One year earlier in Malta, Illinois, the 'Pack lost the opener of the 2015 Region IV Division II Quarterfinal series 5-1, but recovered to take the next two, 6-5 and 12-11 in ten innings to advance.

On April 23, just nine days ago, Madison College swept a regular season doubleheader with the Kougars, winning both games via the run-rule in five innings and by scores of 10-0 and 10-2. The WolfPack own an 11-10 advantage in the all-time series, with all 11 wins coming since 2014. The 'Pack has won eight straight gams since that series opening loss in 2015.

First pitch of game one is at 1:30 p.m., with game two to follow at approximately 3:30 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will start at approximately 5:30 p.m. The winner advances to play the winner of (5) Illinois Valley Community College at (4) Carl Sandburg College at the four-team double-elimination NJCAA Region IV Division II District B Tournament in Freeport, Illinois, on Saturday & Sunday, May 5-6.
