WolfPack post third-best team score of 2025-26 at TPC Deere Run

SILVIS, ILL. - The Madison College golf team had their second straight tournament cut short this week due to rain, but were able to recover and post a tenth-place finish at the Deere Hawk Classic, played at TPC Deere Run. The WolfPack were led by Kellan Jacobson for the second consecutive event as the freshman secured his second career top 20 finish. Round 1 of the tournament was scheduled to be played at Deer Valley Golf Course in Deer Grove, Illinois.

Madison College turned in a team score of 315 at the Par 70 track that hosts a PGA Tour event annually. The tenth place finish in the 16-team field saw the WolfPack sit one shot better than Carl Sandburg College in 11th place and 11 strokes back of ninth-place Illinois College. Heartland Community College won the tournament with a three-over par 283.

Jacobson recorded three birdies and nine pars on his way to the four-over-par 74 and a tie for 19th overall. The round for the Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, native, included an even-par 36 on the back nine. Trey Boecker of Illinois Central College was tops on the day at four-under 66, one of seven scores of even par or better.
