Madison College head baseball coach Mike Davenport will be inducted into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association (WBCA) Hall of Fame in February. The WBCA announced last month that Davenport will be one of five inductees in the Class of 2026 when the WBCA State Clinic and Convention meets on Madison's west side on February 14. Davenport has been the coach of the WolfPack since 2005, leading the program to 14 national tournament appearances and more than 800 wins.

"Mike Davenport has been the Head Coach at Madison College since 2005. Prior to that, he coached at Clarke College (IA) and Kishwaukee College (IL). He has earned multiple Conference, Region, and District Coach of the Year Awards. In 1999, Davenport was the NJCAA Division 2 National Coach of the Year. His teams have appeared in 15 National Tournaments, including 14 with the Madison College WolfPack. In 1999, Davenport led Kishwaukee to a National Championship. He also has a National Runner-Up and four 3rd place finishes with the WolfPack. Madison College has won the Region 4 Championship and appeared in the NJCAA Division 2 National Tournament in 13 of the last 15 seasons, including an NJCAA record 7 consecutive appearances. Davenport has been a speaker at the WBCA clinic as well as ABCA Barnstorming clinics. Notably, most of Madison College's roster is made up of Wisconsin student-athletes. Davenport's career NJCAA record entering the 2026 season stands at 1,145-488 (.701), and his record at Madison College is 806-324 (.713)."
Davenport became the 43rd coach in NJCAA history to surpass 1,000 career victories, has been named Region 4 Coach of the Year 16 times, American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region Coach of the Year 14 times, and was North Central Community College Conference (N4C) Coach of the Year on eight occasions. He has produced 99 all-conference players, including four conference most valuable players, and 78 all-region recipients, including two Region 4 Players of the Year and one Region 4 Defensive Player of the Year. On a national stage, Davenport has instructed 14 All-Americans, three Gold Glove winners, and one NJCAA Defensive Player of the Year. Since taking over the WolfPack program, Davenport has helped 15 players be drafted into the MLB and sent more than 200 players on to continue their baseball careers at four-year institutions.
Madison College will begin its 22nd season under Davenport at the Winter Classic in Normal, Illinois, on February 27 and March 1. They will attempt to continue a NJCAA record for consecutive NJCAA Division II World Series appearances after qualifying for a seventh straight year in 2025.
