Madison College places three on All-Region 4 First Team

Marschke, Gellings, & Alonso joined by Donaldson in postseason awards list

Four members of the 2025 Madison College baseball team received postseason accolades from Region 4, led by the trio of freshman pitcher Noah Marschke, sophomore infielder Jalen Gellings, and second year outfielder Marcelino Edison Alonso as recipients of First Team All-Region 4. Freshman pitcher Axel Donaldson also joined Alonso on the Region 4 Rawlings Gold Glove Team. Alonso hit the Region 4 trifecta, as he was also named the Region 4 Tournament Most Valuable Player. The WolfPack now boasts 123 all-region honorees.

Noah Marschke finished his debut collegiate season with an 8-1 record and a 2.29 earned run average over 66.2 innings and 12 starts. The native of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, is one of 20 players in program history to win eight or more games in a season, and is also tied for 16th in innings pitched in a season. The lefthander racked up a team-leading 89 strikeouts, which ranks second in all of Region 4 and marks the sixth most in a single season in WolfPack history. Marschke enjoyed a dominating stretch of starts from April 10-22 when he struck out 35 batters over 19 innings in three consecutive games, highlighted by a career-best 14 K's against Rock Valley College that ranks tied for third in a single game in team history. Currently, his 2.29 ERA and 66.2 innings qualifies Marschke as tied for 14th in career earned run average at Madison College. Marschke did earn enough all-region votes to secure a NJCAA All-American nomination.

Jalen Gellings posted the top batting average for the WolfPack in 2025, hitting at a .360 clip over 50 games as the team's every day shortstop. The Eden, Wisconsin, native, was second on the team with 58 hits and 51 runs scored, while also driving in 29 runs. Gellings finished the season with an 11-game hitting streak, with nine of those games coming in postseason play. He also collected hitting streaks of ten games and eight games. On April 17, he went a career-best 4 for 4 against the College of Lake County, one of 13 multi-hit games this season. Defensively, he committed just 11 errors and racked up a .940 fielding percentage at short, while leading the team with 112 assists. Over his two seasons with the WolfPack, Gellings, the 2024 Region 4 Tournament MVP, had 110 hits, scored 79 runs, drove in 52 runs, and batted .348.

Marcelino Edison Alonso opened the season red-hot at the plate, going 23 for 42 (.547) over the first 11 games. The product of Reedsburg, Wisconsin, capped that stretch with a 5 for 5 game the resulted in four runs batted in and three runs scored at Triton College, making him one of nine players in program history with that many hits in a single game. For the season, he led the team with 65 hits, nine home runs, 57 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases, with the homers and runs ranking tied for the 11th and tied for 12th in a season, respectively. His 48 RBI were second on the team in 2025. Playing centerfield, Alonso did not commit a single error over 126 opportunities for 1.000 fielding percentage en route to the gold glove accolade. He will leave Madison College ranked tied for 15 in career home runs with 11, to go along with 88 hits, 75 runs, and 66 runs batted.

Axel Donaldson joined Alonso on the gold glove list with another perfect fielding percentage of 1.000, which included two assists and four put outs. When not fielding his position, the De Pere, Wisconsin, native, led the Pack with a 1.84 earned run average that ranked as the 22nd best season in Madison College history. The righthander finished with a record of 6-0 and 34 strikeouts over 12 appearances and 44.0 innings. Donaldson set a career-best with nine strikeouts on April 11 against Carl Sandburg College.
