Road win pushes Madison College win streak to three

WolfPack down rival Stormers to complete three-match road swing

OAK CREEK, WISC. - The Madison College men's soccer team flipped a switch Wednesday afternoon and scored five goals in less than eight minutes of the first half en route to a 6-1 road win against in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College to mark the team's third consecutive victory. Freshman Gabe Voung, one of the nation's leading scorers, tallied two of the team's goals to help the WolfPack secure another North Central Community College Conference and Region 4 decision. The WolfPack were aggressive to the net right from the opening kick, racking up a six total shots and two on goal in the first 20 minutes of the match. The scoreless tie was broken in the 25' when Voung set up sophomore Evan Thom for the first career goal for the midfielder/defenseman from Madison, Wisconsin. The scoring strike set off a chain reaction of goal the firmly put the WolfPack in control. Voung converted a 27' following a corner kick to make it a 2-0 lead, and then took a Jacob Howard pass and made it 3-0 with his 13th goal of the season, which ranks second in all of NJCAA Division III.

The scoring streak continued in the 33' minute as second year Caeben Schomber found the back of the net on a kick assisted by Ian Marquardt, and freshman Adair Tlato followed with an unassisted goal in the 34'. The five consecutive goals were scored on five consecutive shots.

Milwaukee Area Technical College (0-5, 0-4) ended the WolfPack's shutout bid when a 54' goal to pull within four, but Madison College returned the differential to five ten minutes later with forward Sam Johnson's first career goal.
