PLYMOUTH, WISC. - The Madison College women's volleyball team made the drive to east-central Wisconsin a worthwhile one, earning a 3-0 sweep of Lakeland University JV to complete a regular season sweep of the team's home-and-home series. The WolfPack, who are still ranked #12 in the
NJCAA Division III Poll, fought hard for set wins of 25-19, 26-24, 25-21 to improve their all-time series lead to 11-0 over the Muskies, which includes a
3-0 win in Madison on September 10. Freshmen
Daryn Schaefer and
Tyra Anderson both completed double-doubles, with fellow first year
Kendall Weisensel coming up just short of matching their feat.
The WolfPack racked up 11 kills in each of the first two sets, and posted an attack percentage of .168 for the match on 30 total kills. The team's 70 total digs stands as their most in a three-set match this fall, as four different players finished with double-digit digs.
Schaefer, a setter from Wisconsin Heights HS, drove the offense with 25 assists, while also leading the defensive effort with career-high 18 digs for her eighth double-double this season.
Anderson, an outside hitter from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, took 45 swings and hammered home ten kills as the team's top hitter. She also tracked down ten digs for her third double-double, and first since August 20. Right behind Anderson was Weisensel with nine kills and a .308 attack percentage. She also registered 17 digs.
Sophomore
Aubrie Kappes was the fourth WolfPack player with double-digit digs, saving 13 would-be kills. The Marshall, Wisconsin, native was also one of three players with an ace, led by
Katie Wagner with two.
