WHEATON, ILL. - A cold, wet, and windy spring season closed out in fitting fashion, with three teams again braving the conditions Thursday at the College of DuPage Spring Invitational at
Cantigny Golf. Madison College finished third out of three teams with a 353 team score, while two-time Region 4 Division II champion Bryant & Stratton College posted a 309 in its final tune-up for the 2022 NJCAA Division II National Championship. The host Chaparrals were runner-up with a 325 ten days before they will meet up with the WolfPack for the Region 4 Division III Tournament at
PrairieView Golf Club in Byron, Illinois, on May 15 & 16.
Freshman
Jake Rebholze signed off on the best round of the day for the WolfPack, finishing with a ten-over-par 82. The Verona, Wisconsin, native was part of a four-way tie for seventh place, earning his second career top-ten finish. Rebholz was eight shots back of medalist Lenny Oshiro, who led a host of Bobcats that finished in the top four spots with scores of 80 or better.
Fellow first year
Matt Paulson was right on Rebholz' heels, finishing at plus-12 84 for a tie of 11th place overall. The former Mukwonago HS athlete now boats back-to-back top-12 finishes.
Madison College was short-handed for Thursday, and rounded out their scoring with
Tyler Dahl's 89 (+17) and
Darris Schuett's 98 (+26). They finished 15th and 16th respectively.

Madison College and the College of DuPage will square off in a head-to-head matchup over two days at the Region 4 Division III Tournament at
PrairieView Golf Club in Byron, Illinois. The two team's have squared off six times during the 2021-22 season, with the WolfPack coming out on top in three fall events and the Chaps posting better scores in two spring events. They tied for fourth with a 322 total at the Region 4 Classic on October 1, an event also held at PrairieView. The two-day, 36-hole tournament will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, and conclude with 9:00 a.m. tee times on Monday, May 16. The winner advances to the
NJCAA Division III Golf National Championships at
Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, New York, from June 7-10.
