MADISON, WISC. - Three-set matches don't get much more closely played than when Madison College and Harper College met Tuesday in a North Central Community College Conference women's volleyball match inside
H .Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. The visiting Hawks took set wins of 25-23, 25-23, 25-19 to end the WolfPack's three-match win streak, as well as split the regular season series. The 'Pack trails the all-time series 20-18.
The hard-fought battle saw Madison College register an attack percentage of .027, their lowest efficiency of the season, with 28 kills and 24 attack errors. Defensively, the WolfPack produced 14 blocks to match their previous season-high set in the five-set win at Harper College (21-13, 4-5) in September.
Sophomore
Jadyn Holman was the lone hitter with double-digit kills, hammering home a dozen on 40 attempts and hitting .175. The native of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, completed her tenth double-double of the season with a team-best 17 digs.
Setter
Mariah Best also generated a double-double with 14 assists and 13 digs. It's the second straight and sixth overall for the freshman from Waunakee, Wisconsin.
Amelia Walton (16),
Abby Steinhauer (11), and
Maya Adams (10) all produced ten or more digs along the back line, while
Calla Borchert led the front row effort with 7.0 blocks. Adams was second with 6.0 blocks.
