Win streak pushed to four as WolfPack defeat Eagles

Toure tallies four points, joins Urey, Martin-Heid in scoring column

MADISON, WISC. - A season-long win streak for the Madison College men's soccer team continued on Sunday with a 3-1 victory over Illinois Valley Community College in a Region IV match at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. Freshman Samuka Toure had a hand in all three goals scored by the WolfPack, who are riding a four-match win streak and are now 6-0 all-time against the Eagles.

Madison College scored their fastest goal of the season when a slick pass in the 12' from Toure found fellow first year Bobby Urey for a sliding kick just inside the right post. The goal is the second of the season for the former Madison West High School athlete. The score remained 1-0 throughout most of the match, but in WolfPack added some breathing room with Toure's fourth goal of the year. The Madison East High School product secured a loose ball in front of the net and punched it in during the 70'. The 87' brought yet another scoring strike for the 'Pack when a defensive stand led to a four-on-one situation that saw Toure feed freshman defender/forward Lucas Martin-Heid right in front of the net, and he beat a slipping goalkeeper. It was the first career goal for the Oakland, California, native.

Toure, a native of Brooklyn, New York, registered his second four-point match of the season as he equalled his effort from six days prior against MATC-Milwaukee.

Madison College was able to give all three of its goalkeepers some time in front of the net, and they nearly produced a combined shutout. However, Illinois Valley Community College (0-9) was able to tally a goal on a penalty kick in the final minute. Freshman Sebastian Varela recorded one save in 34 minutes to start the match, and was followed by sophomore Saxon LaFlash for the next 27 minutes as he also earned one save. Second year 'keeper Msughter Abel Dzoho worked the final 28 minutes, finishing with two saves and one goal allowed.

The WolfPack owned an impressive 20-11 advantage in total shots and a 12-5 edge in shots on goal. Toure was tops individually with seven total shots and five on goal.
