CLEAN SWEEP: #2 WolfPack sweep match, season series with #10 DuPage

Three-set victory gives Madison College 25th consecutive match win over Chaparrals

GLEN ELLYN, ILL. - Following a trio of intense matches at home, the Madison College volleyball team hit the road Thursday and made quick work of the College of DuPage in a key, 3-0, North Central Community College Conference match victory. The WolfPack, ranked #2 in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll, dominated the match early with a .368 attack percentage in the opening set en route to 25-16, 25-17, and 25-21 sweep over the #10 Chaparrals. Combined with a 3-0 sweep in the home opener August 31, the 'Pack has swept the regular season series COD for an eighth straight year and extended their overall win streak in the head-to-head series to 25 consecutive matches.

Madison College opened with a 15-kill effort in the first set, mishitting just one of their 38 attack attempts to set the tone. They finished with 35 kills on 31 assists, while compiling nine blocks and 60 digs on the defensive side.

Freshman Paige Hostetler was the WolfPack's top hitter with ten kills, hitting .333 with a single hitting error. The outside hitter from Green Bay, Wisconsin, now has six double-digit kill matches, including four in the last six outings. Sophomore Megan Corcoran was a kill behind with nine on the night and a .240 efficiency. The six-rotation player also picked up 11 digs. Six other players all registered at least one kill in the match.

Setters Olivia Darkow and Keely Brown had 15 and 14 assists, respectively, with both also picking up a kill. Darkow also had nine digs, while Brown collected six to help the WolfPack to a third straight win

Defensively, sophomore Lori Sanders spent much of the match above the net, turning away attack-after-attack by DuPage (14-9, 4-4) for a career-high 7.0 blocks, including three solo. The UW-Baraboo/Sauk County transfer and Portage, Wisconsin, native also had four kills and three digs. Any attacks that made it past Sanders and the front row were likely picked up by libero Maddie Scalissi, who had a team-leading 18 digs.
