Days after setting program records for a single game performance, Madison College sophomore
Katie Travis has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) Division III Women's Soccer Player of the Week for September 5-11.
The week began with the 5'4" midfielder scoring her first goal of the season in a 2-1 loss against Joliet Junior College, but it was the next visit to the soccer pitch that proved historic.
Hosting in-state rival Milwaukee Area Technical College, Travis set single-game program records with five goals, five assists, and 15 points as the WolfPack ran away from the Stormers in a 14-0 rout. Adding to the jaw-dropping numbers is the fact that Travis was perfect from the field, scoring all six of her goals on the only six shots on goal that she attempted. Overall, the Burlington, Wisconsin, native finished the week with six goals, five assists, and 17 points.
Travis owns the team lead in assists (8) and points (20), and is also tied for the team lead in goals (6).
Madison College is 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the North Central Community College Conference. They host N4C foe and #10 College of DuPage tonight (9/14) at Warner Park in Madison. Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
