Volleyball Faces the College of DuPage in Region IV Tournament Opener

POSTED 10-31-15 - 1:40 PM - #2 Seed Rock Valley College defeated #3 Seed Harper College 3-1. The WolfPack will play the Rock Valley Golden Eagles at 2:00 PM in the NJCAA Region IV Tournament Championship Game. Madison College is ranked #1 in the nation by the NJCAA, and Rock Valley College is ranked #4. The WolfPack defeated Rock Valley 3-1 and 3-0 in their two early season meetings.

POSTED 10-31-15 - 12:00 PM - #1 Seed Madison College easily defeated the College of DuPage with a three-set win, 25-19, 31-29, 25-18. They will play winner of the 12:00 PM game pitting Harper College vs. Rock Valley College. Madison College's game vs Harper or Rock Valley will start at 2:00 PM.

The 26-4 and #1 ranked Madison College volleyball team received the top seed in the upcoming NJCAA Region IV Tournament on October 31 in Glen Ellyn, IL. The top-seeded WolfPack will face the #4 seeded College of DuPage Chaparrals at 10:00 AM. DuPage comes into the tournament with a 13-10 record. The Rock Valley College Golden Eagles (24-7) and the Harper College Hawks (35-11) are both ranked in the top 10 in the latest NJCAA poll, and received the #2 and #3 seeds respectively.
 
The WolfPack defeated the Chaparrals with ease in both meetings this season. Both matches were won 3-0 in the 'Packs favor. Their third meeting with DuPage has the chance to be the WolfPack's 24th straight win, and the meeting is the team's first step in winning their third straight NJCAA Region IV Championship.
 
Statistically speaking, TeAnn Harms (247) and Andrea Bauer (223) lead the team in kills, while the trio of Allie Lehner (196), Taylor Genthe (185), and Abbey Loken (185) are right behind the front-running duo. Harms also leads the team with 2.55 kills per set, but Lehner holds the best attack percentage on the team with a .370 mark with only 39 errors in 424 attacks. Second year player Brianne Brueggen has accounted for 81 percent of the team's assists and has recorded 825 through 30 matches, and Stevie Winer is the team leader in digs with 448. Bauer (314), Kaitlin Mooney (241), Brueggen (222), and Loken (180) round out the leaderboard in the category. The team battle for the leader in service aces is a close one as Loken (37), Winer (36), and Genthe (34) all have recorded at least 30. Bauer (27), Brueggen (21), and Mooney (16) hold the four, five, and six spots in service aces. Lehner leads the team in all three blocking categories as she registered 110 total blocks, 48 solo blocks, and 62 block assists. Genthe (59), Harms (55), and Loken (43) are all among the leaders in total blocks.
