SOPHOMORE SWEEP: #12 WolfPack need three sets to defeat St. Francis JV

Vosberg closes in on program's all-time kills record

MADISON, WISC. - In their final regular season home game, the Madison College women's volleyball leaned heavily on their five second year players as they earned a 3-0 sweep over NAIA University of St. Francis JV on Wednesday night inside H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. The 25-10, 25-20, 25-17 victory extended the #12-ranked WolfPack's current win streak to nine straight matches as they squared off with the Saints for the first time in program history. Prior to first serve, Madison College Athletics celebrated Sophomore Night by recognizing the five member second year Class of 2026, which includes Allie Andrews, Caylee Coggins, Makayla Dallas, Sam Schultz, and Ella Vosberg.

Madison College trailed early as the USF JV (4-2) led 5-2 in the first set. A kill by freshman Braelee Kiepert started a 6-0 run that included back-to-back aces by Andrews and another kill from Kiepert to bookend it. Following two Saints points, the Pack strung together a 7-1 surge behind two kills by Dallas and two aces from Vosberg to take a commanding 15-8 lead and force a visitors timeout. The rest of the set belonged the Dallas, as the right side hitter from Valders, Wisconsin, engineered a service run of ten consecutive points to close out the set. Following a kill to start the run, Dallas served up five aces leading to a Schultz kill to win the set.

In set two, St. Francis again started fast with a 7-3 advantage that included a quick 4-0 push. Still trailing by four midway through the set, Madison College used a 4-0 run of their own with two kills from Vosberg and an ace by freshman Amara Jahner to pull even at 13-13. Kiepert, a native of Appleton, Wisconsin, terminated a kill that tied the set at 17-17 and ignited a 7-0 surge that featured an ace by the first year outside hitter. A service error by the Saints after holding off two set points gave the Pack a two-sets-to-none lead.

Four quick points for the WolfPack opened the third set as Coggins began the set with a kill and Schultz recorded an ace. Madison College took full control with a 9-1 stretch, highlighted by back-to-back Dallas kills and two aces each for Jaydon Golsteyn and Kiepert. The 11-point advantage narrowed to six at 22-16; however, freshman setter Gretchen Kammerer registered her eighth kill of the season to win the mach.

The WolfPack doubled up the Saints with a 36-17 advantage in kills with a .194 attack percentage. Their 18 aces are the team's second highest in a match this season behind 20 aces in a five-set win over Central Community College in early-September. Defensively, they collected 3.0 blocks and 39 digs.

Vosberg, a native of Cuba City, tallied 11 kills, including six in the second set, to record her 21st match with double-digit kills this season. She now sits just ten kills away from tying the all-time kills record of 817, set by Courtney Gorum just two years ago.

Dallas and Schultz each had eight kills, with Dallas posting a .313 hitting efficiency. Dallas also led the team with six aces, matching her career best for the second time in one week. Schultz added ten digs.

Andrews racked up 22 assists and a dozen digs to lead the team in both categories and secure her 14th double-double this fall.
