Women's soccer hoping to ride momentum of first win

Wednesday, the Madison College women's soccer team scored their first win in program history, beating Harper College 3-0. Today, they'll look to ride that wave of success into their match against Joliet Junior College.

So far this season, the Wolves are 0-7. However, against North Central Community College Conference (N4C) opponents, Joliet has had some similar results when compared to Madison College. That said, the WolfPack is expecting another competitive contest.

"Any opponent, especially one in search of their first win, is a dangerous opponent," said WolfPack head coach Tory Pomeroy. "We know, because that was us earlier this week."

"I'm excited to see how we build off of Wednesday's win," Pomeroy continued. "Does success really breed success, as the saying goes? Obviously, we're hoping that answer will be yes."

Elizabeth Conejo, the 'Pack's lone sophomore, currently leads Madison College with seven goals this season. She tallied two of those marks in the team's last match. Jamie Hess leads the team in assists with two.

Starting in net four times for the WolfPack, Stephanie Myszkowksi is coming off her best game, making 11 of her 20 saves this season against Harper College Wednesday.
