Box Score Two weather delays couldn't stop the WolfPack from earning their second World Series win in convincing 6-0 fashion over Southeastern Community College (IA). The win advances Madison College to play on Wednesday at 7:00 PM against the other remaining undefeated team.
Second year righthander,
Rex Morrow, pitched through a weather delay and five innings to earn his seventh win of the season. Morrow shutout the Blackhawks, allowing only five hits, while striking out three batters. After a lengthly second rain delay, Nate Hoffmann continued where Morrow left off. Hoffmann pitched four scoreless innings, giving up just two hits while earning his fourth save of the season.
Offensively, the WolfPack were led by
Danny Krause's 2-for-3 hitting including his lead-off homerun in the first inning. Five other Madison College batters posted a hit and four players had an RBI.
Back-to-back quality at-bats in the sixth inning helped break the game open.
Keith Browning's one-out double scored
Danny Krause and moved
Brandon Gibis to third.
Dan Schmidt had a base hit that scored both Gibis and Browning. After the three run sixth, the WolfPack added runs in both the seventh and eighth to beat the Southeastern Community College Blackhawks, 6-0.
The win, which happened just before midnight, gives Madison College another day off before they face the winner of tomorrow's Hinds Community College (MS) / Pasco-Hernando State College (FL) game. The WolfPack will take on the winner at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28.
