Box Score 2 They're still in search of their first conference series sweep this season. However, the Madison College softball team played Triton College tough Tuesday, splitting with the Trojans 9-1 and 4-7.
Game one, the WolfPack made quick work of Triton, needing just five innings to mercy the Trojans.
Bridget Jost played a big part in that, holding Triton batters to just three hits and one earned run.
Meanwhile, offensively, Madison College never failed to score in an inning. The team got one run in the first, three in the second, one in the third and fourth, as well as three more in the fifth.
The WolfPack had just six hits in the game, but made the most of their opportunities, scoring three runs off bases-loaded walks.
Brianna Wagner had the big hit of the day for Madison College. Her bases-clearing triple to center in the fifth resulted in the 'Pack securing the 9-1 victory via the eight-run mercy rule.
The victory was the fifth of the season for Jost (5-4).
Game two, Triton turned the tide on the 'Pack, scoring six runs in the opening inning. The 6-0 hole was something Madison College could never climb out of.
Trailing 7-0 in the third, the WolfPack would have their best inning of the game. The team added three runs on just one hit to cut the Trojans lead to 7-3.

Nicole Hoffmann were walked back-to-back in the inning, each bringing in a run, before
Kasey Gutzmer's sac fly to left scored
Paige Giese.
Madison College would add just one more run in the game, as
Hailey Simpson scored in the fourth off a wild pitch.
Paige Weber (3-7) was charged with the loss. Weber lasted just one-third of an inning, giving up four earned runs.
The WolfPack will visit conference foe Joliet Junior College tomorrow for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
