Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 It didn't come easy, winning at conference rival Joliet Junior College. However, for the Madison College baseball team the sweep did come, by just a combined three runs. Saturday, the WolfPack bested the Wolves 10-9 and 4-2.

Game one, Madison College jumped on Joliet in the early going. The team scored five runs in the opening two innings. Dan Schmidt provided three RBI, coming through with a single in the first and double in the second.

Up 5-1 after two complete, the 'Pack would pour in four more runs in the third and fourth combined. In the third, Keith Browning brought in Courtney Watkins with a single to right to make it 7-1. Then, Luke Syens and Pete Hofman both brought in a run, with a pair of singles in the fourth, to push the Madison College lead to 9-1.

However, leading 10-3 entering the game's seventh and final inning, the WolfPack would struggle mightily to close the door on the Wolves. Joliet Junior College scored six runs in the game's final frame, coming within just one run of tying the game at 10.

Corey Fischer (4-1) was credited with the win. Fischer threw six innings, struck out three, and gave up six hits and zero earned runs. Meanwhile, Nathan Hoffmann picked up his second save of the season.

Game two, it was the WolfPack's turn to rally. After five innings were in the books, Madison College found itself down 2-0.

The 'Pack would tie the game in the sixth. Luke Syens doubled to left to score Danny Krause, followed up by Matt Cole coming through with a single to right to bring in Syens.

Tied at two in the seventh, Mike Jordahl would prove to be the game-winning run, after scoring on an error by Joliet Junior College. Sam Hurt's single to right to plate Pete Hofman would just provide some cushion.

Dan Schmidt grabbed the game two victory. Schmidt threw six and two-thirds innings, giving up seven hits and two earned runs. Westin Wuethrich collected his second save of the season.
