Box Score The unbeaten Madison College softball team had Dakota County Technical College (Minn.) right where they wanted them, leading 4-0 in the seventh inning Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the Blue Knights refused to go away, rallying to win 5-4, in what was the WolfPack's first game of their Arizona spring trip.
Nicole Hoffmann, who would finish the game with a game-high three RBI, helped Madison College start off strong. Her single in the third inning scored Andrea Lawrecne to give the 'Pack a 1-0 lead.
The team would add to their lead in the fifth, with sophomore star
Megan Hanke hitting a triple to center to bring in
Hailey Simpson. Madison College would carry their 2-0 lead into the seventh.
Still up a pair in the final frame, Hoffman would again come through for the WolfPack. Her two-run home run to center would push the Madison lead to 4-0.
The bottom of the seventh inning was not kind to Madison College though. Walking three straight batters to start off the home half,
Paige Weber was unable to bounce back. Dakota County would go on to score their game-sealing five runs in the form of a fielder's choice, a single and two doubles.
The WolfPack (4-1) will look to rebound from the loss in an 11 a.m. game against Douglas College (Canada).
