Entering the NJCAA Region IV Tournament semifinals as the #3 seed, the Madison College women's soccer team will play their first-ever postseason game against the College of DuPage Saturday. The two teams have met twice already this season, with the Chaparrals winning both affairs 6-1 and 3-0, respectively.
Undoubtedly, the biggest key for the WolfPack will be trying to contain Angela Toritto. Toritto had a hat-trick in each of the previous two meetings with Madison College.
However, the 'Pack just picked up, arguably, their most complete team victory of the season. In their final regular season game, visiting Joliet Junior College, Madison won 6-1.
In the outing, their leading scorer
Elizabeth Conejo (15) was held without a goal, but four other members of the WolfPack would net scores.
Tynia Goldensoph scored three times against the Wolves, notching her first career hat-trick.
Last time out against College of DuPage, Madison College held the Chaparrals scoreless in the second half.
The WolfPack is 5-2-1 over their last eight games. Kickoff for Saturday's playoff game is slated for noon in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
On the other side of the bracket top-seeded Rock Valley College will host #4 Harper College. That game will also be played Saturday at noon, with the winners scheduled to meet Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. in the NJCAA Region IV Championship. The higher seeded team will host that matchup.
