WolfPack big men look sharp against Fox Valley

Box Score The two biggest Madison College men's basketball players, Griffin Eckhart and Brandon Holz, played big against Fox Valley Technical College Monday night. The pair combined for 28 points and 20 rebounds, helping the WolfPack to a 93-62 victory.

Madison College showed they were the better team from the opening tap. The 'Pack hit 48 percent of their shots in the opening half, racing out to a 48-27 lead at the break. Conversely, the Foxes were held to 36 percent shooting.

It wasn't just Eckhart (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Holz (14 points, 9 rebounds) who had it going on for Madison College. Three other players scored in double figures for the WolfPack. Nathan Scheeter poured in 12 points, while Tanner Schieve and Shane Kanaman each added 11.

Defensively, Madison College forced 26 turnovers by the Foxes, turning those mistakes into 33 points. The 'Pack finished with 17 steals and three blocks.

Madison College (4-16, 1-5) returns to North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play Wednesday. The team travels to Palatine, Ill. to take on Harper College. Tipoff time is set for 7 p.m.
