The series split with a tough NJCAA DIII Waubonsee team in Madison proved to be what the 'Pack needed in their final tune-up headed into the postseason.
In game one, Madison College grabbed the early 2-1 lead after scoring a run in each the first and second innings, and then starter
Cody Peterson silenced the opposing offense. Unfortunately, the Chiefs starter also silenced the WolfPack bats and the score remained 2-1 in the 'Pack's favor before Waubonsee took the lead with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. Madison had no answer and the game ended in favor of the Waubonsee Chiefs, 4-2, in seven innings.
Taylor Carlson had the only two hit day, and the only extra base hit for the 'Pack as the Madison College bats were limited to just four hits. Carlson also scored a run, as did
Ryan McShane who singled and scored in the first inning.
Nathan Pollock also added two stolen bases, and
Rex Morrow recorded the lone RBI for the WolfPack.
Starter

On the positive side, Peterson recorded eight strike outs to boost his team-high in the category to 49 on the year in 46.2 innings of work from the mound.
Game two turned out much different for Madison College as the team scored four runs in the bottom of the second after Waubonsee plated a run in their half of the inning. Up 4-1, the Madison starter
Calen Rohrman allowed solo runs in the third and fifth innings, but the WolfPack still held a 4-3 lead. Then the WolfPack offense arrived just in time as they scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the comfortable 7-3 lead. Waubonsee did tack on a run in the seventh inning off of reliever
Mac Wichmann, but the damage wasn't nearly enough and the 'Pack prevailed 7-4 in their final regular season game.
Sophomore infielder
Ryan McShane provided all of the second inning damage with his grand slam home run to left field. On the day, McShane added two more hits as he finished the day 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs scored, a stolen base, and the 'Pack's first grand slam of the season.
Joe Stubbe,

Luke Syens finished the day with two hits each. Stubbe, Carlson, and Syens all recorded doubles as the 'Pack offense came alive to the tune of 11 base hits. The offense also recorded four walks, one sacrifice hit, and they were aided by one Waubonsee error.
Madison starter
Calen Rohrman earned his fifth win of the year as he improved to 5-0 on the year in his five and one third innings of work. He did allow three earned runs on eight hits before
Mac Wichmann picked up his first save of the season in one and a third innings of solid relief.
