Box Score 2 The Madison College baseball team swept the Joliet Junior College Wolves to pickup two N4C wins in Madison by the scores of 12-2, 2-1. Madison College scored four runs in the first, fourth, and fifth innings of game one for the shortened five-inning win, and the two teams were tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the eighth before the 'Pack scored a run for the walk-off extra inning win in game two.
Ryan McShane led the team in game one with two hits, and he was joined by
Evan Richarz who also pitched in two. McShane also drove in two runs and scored once, while Richarz added a double and two runs scored.
Dan Schmidt paced the squad with three of the team's 10 RBI, and all three RBI came off of his first inning triple.
Danny Krause grabbed the team lead in runs scored with three, while adding a double.
David Luciani added the teams other extra base hit with his two-run fourth inning double.
Nathan Hoffmann picked up the win as the young pitcher went the distance (5 innings) and allowed only three hits, two runs (1 earned), while striking out four.
Game two started off and finished completely opposite as Joliet grabbed the early one run lead in the second inning. Madison did strike for a run of their own in the fourth and the two teams remained deadlocked after seven innings. In the bottom of the eighth inning,

Danny Krause and the WolfPack walked away with the thrilling, come from behind win.
Corey Fischer started the game on the mound and threw six and a third solid innings of two hit ball before being relieved by
Dan Schmidt. In Fischer's time toeing the slab, he only allowed one earned run to go with the two hits while walking three and striking out five.
Dan Schmidt, who provided the game-wining RBI, also picked up his third win of the year. In an inning and two thirds, Schmidt's only blemish was surrendering one hit. He did strike out two of the seven batters he faced in the 2-1 win.
The 14-6 'Pack is now 5-1 in N4C play, and the team remains at home for Sunday, April 14's home game against Carl Sandburg College. The doubleheader against the CSC Chargers starts at 1:00 PM.
