Madison Outhits University of Tampa JV, Wins 14-8

Box Score The Madison College Baseball team outhit the host University of Tampa JV to win their final game of their 2013 spring trip, 14-8.  Greg Rhude went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored in the victory.

The WolfPack scored runs in six innings including five runs in the fifth inning after the University of Tampa JV scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth.  The University of Tampa committed five errors to only one for the WolfPack.

Greg Rhude and Nathan Pollock each had three hits and three runs scored.  While Rhude went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a triple, his teammate, Nathan Pollack, was 3-for-5 with an RBI, a double and a triple. Dan Schmidt led the WolfPack in RBIs with three as he went 2-for-3 on the day.  David Luciani was the other Madison College player with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Three WolfPack pitchers saw action in the final game of the spring trip.  Zach Ransom started the game, pitching three and two thirds innings, striking out one, walking four and giving up two earned runs on six hits.  Jameson Sadowske came into the game in the fourth when Ransom ran into trouble. Sadowske earned the win by pitching three and one-third innings, striking out seven, walking one and surrendering just one earned run on three hits.  Corey Fischer finished off the final two innings for the WolfPack shutting out Tampa with four strikeouts and just one hit.

The 14-8 win pushed the WolfPack's overall record to 6-4 and allowed them to finish the spring trip with a 5-3 record.  Next up for Madison College Baseball is conference game versus Harper College on Tuesday, March 2.
