Box Score 2 Once again Elgin Community College pushed the WolfPack to extra innings and two tight one run games. Madison College prevailed after giving up the lead in the first game but Elgin's comeback in game two proved too much.
In the first game, the WolfPack brought a four run lead (8-4) into the seventh inning but the lead was not enough as Elgin scored four runs of their own including one run with two outs to tie the game and send it into extra innings. Just three days prior, the WolfPack played an extra innings game against Elgin. Similar to that game, the game ended in the bottom of the ninth. This time it was
Bryce Barsness reaching on a fielder's choice, avoiding a double play and scoring
Greg Rhude to end the game.
The WolfPack recorded fourteen hits and had five players with multiple hits in the game. Catcher
Jeremias Delgado led all batters going 3-for-4. Second baseman
Rex Morrow also hit the ball well going 2-for-3.

Danny Krause each had two hits while teammate
Greg Rhude hit a double in his only at-bat.
Starter
Shane Adler went five innings, striking out five, walking two and giving up two earned runs on four hits. Jameson Sadowski pitched one inning before turning it over to
Dan Schmidt.
Dan Schmidt fought back after a disappointing seventh inning to earn the win, pitching three innings, striking out two, walking one and giving up no earned runs on two hits.
The WolfPack improved to 4-3 with the 9-8 victory over Region IV opponent, Elgin Community College.
In game two, the WolfPack continued to remain hot offensively scoring runs in the first five innings of the game including two runs in both the second and third innings. Madison College carried a 7-3 lead into the sixth inning when Elgin exploded for five runs on six hits to take the lead. The WolfPack could not answer in the top of the seventh and fell to Elgin, 8-7.
Evan Richarz led the WolfPack with a 3-for-4 outing, including a stolen base.
Rex Morrow and
Ryan McShane each went 2-for-4 with McShane scoring twice.
Keith Browning had two stolen bases.
Cody Peterson pitched five innings, striking out seven batters, walking one and surrending eight earned runs on ten hits. Peterson also gave up two home runs in the 8-7 loss.
Rex Morrow pitched one inning in relief giving up two hits and striking out three. The loss pulls the WolfPack back to .500.
Madison College will face Prairie State College for one-seven inning game on Wednesday in Auburndale, FL.
