Madison College Volleyball Now Ranked in NJCAA Top Ten Poll

Fresh off a comeback victory over NJCAA DIII powerhouse and #2 nationally ranked Rock Valley College last Thursday, the Madison College volleyball team used the positive momentum to put together a dominating 3-0 win over the Triton College Trojans on Tuesday night. The 25-14, 25-15, 25-18 N4C conference and home win pushes the 'Packs record to 11-3 overall and 5-1 in the N4C. Madison has now won five straight N4C conference games after dropping their N4C opener in late August.

Payton Klein powered the offense with seven kills, while Danielle Crawford and Morgan Ellickson both added six in the team's second consecutive home win. Melinda Statz paced the WolfPack with 19 assists and added four digs, and Vanessa Clarson recorded a team-high 17 digs to lead the defense. Terissa Bierd, who led the team with four service aces, registered 12 digs and five kills in a great all-around game.

Before the match it was announced that Madison College made their way into the NJCAA's DIII volleyball poll with a #8 ranking. Besides currently ranked #2 Rock Valley College, Harper College represents the N4C as they sit at the #4 spot in the latest poll.

Madison College has the day off before travelling to Whitewater, WI to take on the UW-Whitewater Warhawks JV on September 20. The non-conference game starts at 6:00 PM.
