CHAMPAIGN, ILL. - The Madison College women's volleyball experienced some high notes during their trip to the Parkland Mid-Season Invite, where they upset one of the top-ranked teams in the nation on their home floor and saw a major school record go down. The #13-ranked WolfPack split their opening matches on Friday, falling 3-2 against Hawkeye Community College before sweeping Kalamazoo Valley Community College 3-0 in a match that saw sophomore setter

Saturday's slate opened with a Top-15 class that resulted in a 3-2 win over #4-ranked Parkland College and ended with another 3-0 sweep of Kankakee Community College in a neutral site Region 4 match.
Match #1: Hawkeye Community College 3, #13 Madison College 2 (25-10, 22-25, 12-25, 25-19, 17-15)
Three weeks after sweeping the RedTails at the Lincoln Land Tournament, Madison College was unable to duplicate the win as they fell in the second all-time meeting with HCC. However, the WolfPack responded with a narrow win in the second set and a resounding win in the third set, where they built a 15-point lead.
The RedTails pulled it together in the fourth to force the decisive fifth set. Facing a three-point deficit at 10-7, Madison College rattled off five straight points to lead 12-10. After holding off match point #1 for Hawkeye Community College (13-17), who committed a hitting error, another poor attack gave the Pack a 15-14 lead and match point.
