WolfPack Baseball Team Keeps Winning Streak Alive

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Madison College baseball team continued to do what it does best on Saturday, April 7, win. Hosting the Harper College Hawks, the WolfPack upped their winning streak to six games, blanking Harper in back-to-back games, 3-0 and 15-0.

Game one, the WolfPack found themselves in a pitching duel early on. Neither team scored in the first four innings, seeing just a combined six hits between the two teams during that time. The WolfPack finally got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Eric DuCharme scored on a fielder's choice, and a Luke Maldonado sac fly brought in Jon Dybevik. Though they wouldn't need another run, the team scored once more in the sixth. Ryan McShane would score on another fielder's choice. Madison College finished with three runs on seven hits. Harper had just two hits and two errors.

Shane Adler, who threw a complete game, got the win for the WolfPack. Adler gave up just two hits, zero earned runs, struck out seven, and walked two.

Game two, the 'Pack needed just one inning to get the job done. Madison College exploded for ten runs in the first. The team used eight hits, and three errors, to put up the double digits. Treysen Vavra, Landon Tenhagen, Nathan Pollock, Beau Goff, Ryan McShane, and Luke Maldonado all recorded RBI in the inning. The team would refuse to slow down after that, scoring five more times in the next two innings. Landon Tenhagen hit a solo homerun in the third, an inning in which the team scored four times off of five hits. Madison College finished with fifteen runs on eighteen hits, having just one error.

Treysen Vavra (2-for-3), Landon Tenhagen (2-for-3), and Beau Goff (2-for-2) each finished with three RBI. Ryan McShane (3-for-4) recorded two RBI. Josh Rowles scored three times for the 'Pack. Danny Sullivan was credited with the win for the WolfPack. Sullivan pitched four innings, giving up three hits, zero earned runs, striking out seven, and walking just one.

Madison College (16-5, 3-1) will host a doubleheader against Highland Community College on Wednesday, April 11. The action will get underway at 4:00 PM.
