WolfPack Softball Suffers Doubleheader Sweep to DuPage

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Madison College softball team dropped both games of a conference twinbill against the College of DuPage Chapparals by identical scores of 0-8, 0-8 on Saturday, April 21 to drop to 6-8 in N4C conference play. With the two wins at the Softball Complex in Madison, DuPage won the four game series against WolfPack by taking the last three contests.

Samantha Schuchardt was saddled with the loss in the opener on April 21, but only two of her eight runs were earned as the 'Pack committed three errors. The WolfPack offense was limited to five hits in the five inning game, with Schuchardt and four others adding singles in the eight run loss.

The similarities between game one and two went beyond the 0-8 score, as Madison College committed four errors to make four of the eight runs WolfPack starter Marissa Shaner allowed unearned.  On the offensive side, freshman Brittany Kaltenberg led the 'Pack by going 3-for-3 at the plate on her way to recording three of the WolfPack's four hits. Kaltenberg also added a steal in the seven inning game.

The 12-19 WolfPack (6-8 N4C) are right back at it tomorrow with another doubleheader against the Waubonsee Community College Chiefs. The first April 22 game in Sugar Grove, IL starts at 12:00 PM.
