Box Score 2 The Oakton Community College Raiders defeated the WolfPack in April 20's doubleheader opener 5-7, before the Madison College offense got white hot in the 13-6 game two win. The 'Pack used 17 hits to score their 13 runs, including 4 spots in both the bottom of the first and fifth innings, in the overwhelming non-conference win.
In the doubleheader opener Madison College held a 3-2 lead after three innings before the visiting offense caught fire and scored 5 runs in the final four frames, including two in the top of the eighth to break the 5-5 tie and give the visitor the extra inning win.
Luke Maldonado,
Treysen Vavra, and
Eric DuCharme all had three hits as the trio recorded six of the ten WolfPack hits. Maldonado scored three of the five runs, and
Landon Tenhagen led the team with two RBI in the loss.
In game two, starter
Danny Sullivan improved to 5-0 in the 13-6 win as he scattered seven hits and gave up five earned runs in five innings. The fireballer struck out nine of the 25 batters he faced before being relieved by
Brent Mueller in the final two innings. Mueller also struck out three in his two innings of relief.
Bryce Barsness led the WolfPack offensive attack by going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI. Barsness was one of four Madison College hitters to record three hits as
Ryan McShane,
Luke Maldonado, and
Treysen Vavra all finished 3-for-4. McShane scored three times, Maldonado scored twice and drove in two more runs, and Vavra drove in two runs to go with three runs scored.
Nathan Pollock also had a great game at the plate as he paced the 'Pack with four RBI on two, two RBI singles in the third and fifth innings.
Madison College sits at 22-9 (5-1 N4C) with a all important conference doubleheader next on the schedule against the Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers. The first game of the April 21 doubleheader starts at 12:00 PM at Robin Roberts Field in Madison, WI.
