WolfPack Baseball Toppled by Goliath

Box Score The Madison College baseball team was no match for the Heartland Community College Hawks as the host team proved why they were ranked number two nationally by the NJCAA on their way to 11-4 win in Normal, IL on April 19. Entering the game Madison College was highly ranked themselves as the NJCAA placed them seventh in the country, but the Hawk's starting pitcher tossed a no-hitter through the first five innings and the Heartland offense plated nine runs before the 'Pack got on the board in the nine inning game.

Down 9-0, Madison College finally scored in the top of the sixth inning when Landon Tenhagen drove in Eric DuCharme on an RBI single. The 'Pack scored two more runs in the eight inning on DuCharme's two run homerun, and one more in the ninth, but the damage had already been done. Eric DuCharme led the WolfPack offensive attack by finishing 2-for-4, including the homerun, two RBI, and two runs. Tenhagen accounted for the only other RBI, and Ryan McShane and Treysen Vavra scored the other WolfPack runs.
